Hospital, Vacation, Liquids and Bacon

We are back comfortably back at the beach house with the family. It was a very long, long day yesterday.

If you saw on Twitter and/or Facebook you kept up with the drama and perhaps I will recap it later, but we ended up getting clearance to return to the beach with the stipulation that Gage will drink water and we will redo labs tomorrow to make sure the numbers are continuing to come down.

Suffice it to say that I’ve never been so terrified about labs as I was yesterday when I got that call. More on that in another post.

The cops stopped me to give me a ticket for lights that weren’t working at night (well, it was midnight) but then I told him I was on my way back to the beach after a day at the hospital because of my son’s kidney transplant and he decided not to, which was very nice.

Thanks to all of you who sent emails, DMs, texts and messages my way. You helped me hold it together because there was a time when I thought I might buckle under the weight of uncertainty. Thank you thank you.

We’re in a mode of fluids right now. And well, looking at the waves.

*We had bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches for breakfast, hence the title.
