The Night Before

We snuggled the night before 5th grade

A little nervous

Will I make new friends

Am I smart enough

What if I don’t wear the right thing

What if I don’t like my teacher

What if my teacher doesn’t like me

Am I smart enough

She asked herself these questions before school started

New friends, nice teacher, a girl who doesn’t care what she is wearing

This homework is easy

I like my class

I like 5th grade

I am smart
