Afraid to hope but saying no to despair.

As with many things in our lives we’re a little gun shy to believe we may be on the upswing. That doesn’t mean that we don’t appreciate the good days. It just means that we are never sure they will last. Because for us, typically they don’t.

We work internally (daily) within ourselves as parents to live in today. We do this for many reasons. One is that we just want to make sure we appreciate the good. We’ve found this isn’t as easy as it looks and it’s a daily lesson. We also have learned (the hard way) that if you get your hopes up too high, it’s a harder fall when it goes bad. And like I said, something will go wrong.

We have so many variables in our lives with the kids that we know this to be a true statement.

People may think it’s a not right to live this way but I’d venture to say that they haven’t been through a similar experience. I think for us, it’s a way to survive. I say us, because Julian believes as I do…we try not to get our hopes up to high and we try not to get to low so it’ll be too hard to climb out.

We are usually hovering somewhere in the middle with regards to what goes on in our lives, good or bad. Emotionally, I mean.

We’re waiting. Since July we’ve been adjusting mental health meds and recently we have some med issues with transplant meds, so we’re pharmaceutically challenged right now.

I think living each day to its fullest, not dwelling on the past or anticipating the future is a lesson many of us can learn.

Doing it your way is the best for all of you. Again thanks for taking care of yourselves.
